This is Why I Hate Politics
Over the course of the day, a little email drama happened to us. My mother is notorious for forwarding crap that no one wants to read, and we can’t break her of the habit. Usually, I just delete it. But someone replied all, and it offended Jonathan. Jonathan then replied to that person and mother and said he didn’t want to hear anymore of the “Moron’s” point of view. A little harsh, yes, but nothing like the man’s response to Jonathan.
Gosh I hope you were talking to ***** about MY comments on Yomama Obama! If so, that means I struck a nerve, even in your thick skinned, low brain cell count, body about what a poor choice for President of the greatest country on earth that idiot from Illinois is.You made my day! Oh and by the way, I WILL continue to bad mouth that jackass…..and I guess the mindless idiots like you who support him. If you are one of those, please go get a brain transplant. SOCIALISM as a form of government does not work. Obama…..by his actions, not his words thinks socialism is a wonderful concept. Just go to work, (well some of us) make money, send it in and let the government take care of you. Just ask the Russians how great a concept Mr. Lenin, Joe Stalin and the rest of them had.
Well, let me tell you how much it pissed me off. Keep in mind that this man is very active in our church and calls himself a Christian.
I think the more important issue is would a true Christian make comments like that towards another person? Even one who doesn’t agree with your political views?
Your response is deliberately insulting, and very un-Christian-like. Quite frankly, your response to my husband insults and offends me.
Next time, please DON’T USE REPLY ALL to spout your political views. I don’t care what your views are or how you feel about the candidates.
And here’s his response to me:
You are quite probably right about my being deliberately insulting. Those clueless folks who can’t see thru the Democrat Party agenda make me want to puke. Christian or not, that’s the way I feel. Even Jesus got angry and expressed himself to the money changers. It’s my opinion that the liberal agenda is to try and “change”our country by taking away many of the freedoms we have and tax us into a third world country.
I just get extremely motivated to discourage that behaviour in whatever format I find myself.
True Christians have the courage to express themselves, too. It’s not mean or insulting if it’s the truth.
You have every right as an American to disagree with anything I say. I spent 4 years in the US Army defending your right to do that. You also have the right to be wrong.
Just for the record, how “Christian” was it for John to call me a moron?
Have a nice day. I’d prefer you didn’t respond to this and assure you if you do I won’t be reading it.
Obviously, I’m not going to email the man back, since he informed me that he wouldn’t read any response I send. So here it is in a public venue now.
First of all, having a different opinion from you doesn’t make me an idiot. I am not clueless if I don’t see eye to eye with your beliefs. There is never black and white, and people who don’t see the gray piss me off. It also doesn’t mean I support a “Liberal agenda.” Only that I disagree with the specific comment you made, and the fact that the email was idiotic to begin with. It is mean and insulting when you intend it to be that way, and really it’s only the truth as you see it. For the record, I am well educated, hard working, employed and NOT on welfare.
People who feel that “passionately” about something should be able to support their stance with facts, figures, and sources – and act like they are informed on the subject. For the record – the email was about Obama “removing the American flag” from his campaign plane. Yes, but only because it was the FREAKING AIRLINE LOGO!
Politics makes people assholes.
And as for forwarded email, here’s SeanMc’s view, and Darque’s. Both of which I wholeheartedly agree with. And now, I’m going to try to be a Christian and let it go.

Here’s an email I got today:
Right now the temperature in northern Minnesota is -8 and it feels like -22. Winter storms are expected to dump snow throughout the Northeast and the four corners out West. The Northern Plains and Great Lakes areas could see a foot of snow today and tomorrow!
This is no time to be choosing between heating your home and feeding your children. Yet, for millions of Americans it’s a very real problem and an impossible decision. They just can’t afford to do both.
You’ve been such a generous and compassionate friend to your neighbors in need. That’s why I’m writing you today. We need your help to get food to struggling families during this critical time. If we can’t reach them with much-needed food, how will they make this impossible decision whether to heat or eat?
You can make the choice for them. Every dollar you give today will multiply 30 times to provide 4 bags of groceries for families in desperate need. Our goal is to provide 3.2 million bags of groceries in the next few weeks. We can’t do it without you!
I hope I can count on you again today. Thank you for your support.
Donate to America’s Second Harvest today and your dollar goes even further.

Our church does this every year and I think it’s such a neat idea I wanted to share. You pack a shoe box with necessities for children, donate it and Samaritan’s Purse passes them out. Check out the FAQ page on what to do.
My nephews are doing this again, and I’m planning on sending one or two myself.

September 21 is World Alzheimer’s Day, and the Alzheimer’s Association is trying to raise $1 million to support their mission. The Harrah’s Foundation will match dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million.
This is a cause close to my heart because my grandmother suffered from Alzheimer’s. It was extremely difficult to watch the changes in that vital strong woman.
Please donate to the cause, if you can.

Give the Gift of Sight is an organization that provides free eye exams and eyewear to those who can’t afford it, both domestically and internationally. They take old prescription eyeglasses, and re-purpose and recycle them.
If you are anything like me, you’ve held onto those old glasses, “Just In Case.” I currently have 4 pairs of old glasses, and two current ones! I do recommend everyone keep a spare, just in case your pair breaks. But let’s donate those old ones!
Collection boxes are available at a LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical, BJ’s Opticalor or Sunglass Hut near you. You can also donate to them to the local Lions Club.

If you are like me you’ve got a couple of bridesmaid dresses sitting in your closet. (Hopefully unlike me, you actually got to use yours!) I ran across this group, Hope for Uganda, who is sending bridesmaid dresses to Uganda.
Well it turns out that in Uganda, the custom is that a woman will wear up to five different dresses on her wedding day. Hope for Uganda is collecting dresses here and will open up a shop there. Women will be able to rent the dresses and the shop will run on a type of micro-finance premise, allowing the community to make money and not just rely on handouts from more financially prosperous countries. Source
I contacted the people directly at Hope for Uganda, and was told all I had to do was mail the dresses to their address.

One Click Feeds Hungry Americans
Via An Email:
I found this great web site where you can help feed hungry families with the simple click of a button. I’ve done it, and I hope you will, too.
All you have to do is click a button and you’ll deliver 4 bags of groceries for hungry men, women, and children. And it’s free for you to click! Copy and paste this URL into your browser window: http://a2h.convio.net/site/PageServer?pagename=had07
For each click, ConAgra Foods will donate $1 to America’s Second Harvest to feed hungry Americans, up to $15,000. It doesn’t get any easier than that to make a difference for someone in need!
You can only click once per day, so tell everyone you know just like I did. They’ll track your progress so you can see how you’re making a difference.
Remember, just 1 click = 4 bags of groceries. Please, spread the word today.
Thanks!
